And In the End It Was Earth

Appalachian Dreams

Chasing Orion
0 out of 5(0)Chasing Orion refers to the practice of celestial navigation, or “sailing by the stars.” It was inspired by the rich early history of maritime sailing and the commercial shipping industry. After traveling to distant and exotic lands, the fast clipper ships raced toward home, their holds bursting with grain, wool, spices, gold, and other treasures. Catapulted forward by the “roaring forties” wind currents, the sleek and elegant sailing ships swept around the ever-dangerous Cape Horn as they navigated by the stars, “chasing Orion.” A dramatic new addition to the young band literature!SKU: AL32494 -

Children of a Different Sun
0 out of 5(0)Opening with a heroic fanfare, this stunning original composition was inspired by the 15th century Inca citadel Machu Picchu and specifically the Intihuatana stone in what is now southeastern Peru where sun worship was favored. Many historians have come to refer to the Inca Empire as “Children of the Sun.” The work continues with an intense, almost frenzied, component that sets the stage for an active interplay of contrasting themes featuring a melodic statement interrupted by accented percussive statements. A pensive and lush moment builds with strong percussion contribution to a bold and satisfying conclusion. Skillfully arranged by Roland Barrett. (4:45)SKU: AL45806 -
