Concert Band, Concert Band Grade: 4
Country Gardens
Grainger’s first piano arrangement of this English morris dance tune was completed in 1918 as a birthday gift for his mother. It became extremely popular and was his greatest commercial and financial success. Even this simple tune displays his genius with harmony, counterpoint, and color. This very playable arrangement is an excellent way to introduce your students to the music of Percy Grainger! (2:10)SKU: AL39643 -

Lisbon (from Lincolnshire Posy)
The opening movement of Grainger’s Lincolnshire Posy is the brief yet engaging “Lisbon” and has been arranged here for young players and reduced instrumentation. The Lost Lady Found (from Lincolnshire Posy)
The final movement of Percy Grainger’s masterwork Lincolnshire Posy is arranged here for younger bands with reduced instrumentation. Similar to his earlier adaptation of “Horkstow Grange”, Michael Sweeney carefully maintains the structural and harmonic integrity of the original while providing an authentic-sounding version at an easy level. Certain to become a “must have” for the young band repertoire. (Grade 2.5) Dur: 2:50SKU: HL04003067 -

Concert Band, Concert Band Grade: 4
Zanzibar Boat Song
Percy Grainger composed this work for “six hands at one piano” in 1902, and subsequently he began a version for percussion ensemble that was never completed. Using sketches of this incomplete arrangement, Preston Hazzard has created a unique setting for concert band. The transparent and delicate lilting nature of the original work comes through in this appealing arrangement for winds and percussion. Dur: 4:00SKU: HL04003922
