A Mother’s Love
A mother’s love is boundless, never-ending, gentle, and caressing. Written upon the passing of the composer’s mother, this composition opens with a pure and simple melodic statement that later opens into the warmth of the full ensemble sound, much like the comfort of a mother’s embrace. The opening interval of the minor third is often heard by a child calling “mom-my,” and the piece closes with the bells playing this motive. The composer dedicates this piece to the memory of his mother, who always believed in his hopes and dreams. (3:45)SKU: AL37819 -

Aeolian Winds
In Greek mythology Aeolus was called “god of the winds.” Legend has it he was visited by Odysseus and his crew, and that he provided for a west wind to carry them home. The E-flat major scale is fully exploited in this skillfully composed and orchestrated melody, whose brief excursions into foreign tonal centers are clearly notated with accidentals rather than new key signatures. With grateful ranges and limited technical demands throughout, dramatic impact is achieved through a variety of dynamic levels and non-harmonic tones.SKU: AL26821 -

All Things
All things . . . for concert band, is a setting of the traditional tune All Things Bright and Beautiful. The melody, while undergoing quite a few variations and transformations, still remains true to the original lyric quality hymn tune. Initially, the hymn is fragmented and slowly is presented in larger pieces as the work progresses. At the climax of the piece a clear and exuberant presentation of the original tune can be heard. The piece then concludes by returning to where it began by fragmenting the melody again and fading into the distance.SKU: AL24665
